The San Francisco 49ers weathered the loss of Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo with aplomb earlier this season, slotting in Brock Purdy and winning 10 straight games and the NFC West title. That run of good fortune came to an end in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, with Purdy sidelined because of an elbow injury and backup quarterback Josh Johnson forced to step in. Johnson didn't last long, however, going into the concussion protocol and forcing an injured Purdy back into the game. Running back Christian McCaffrey even played a down at quarterback, going 0-for-1. In all, Purdy went 4-for-4 for only 23 yards for the game.Even if he were healthy, however, it might not have been enough to stop this Philadelphia Eagles juggernaut. On a relatively quiet night for Jalen Hurts (15-for-25, 148 yards passing), Philadelphia rushed for four touchdowns -- two from Miles Sanders, one from Boston Scott and one from Hurts in a 31-7 victory. The Eagles are now headed to the Super Bowl to face either the Chiefs or Bengals.
